To be eligible to apply for this citation, organisations must be compliant with the Act and must meet all prerequisites.
The citation application process is separate from compliance reporting. As a result, the compliance reports do not contain any validations for EOCGE eligibility.
Any employer who believes they meet the prerequisites is able to complete and submit their EOCGE application, which is available on the “Recognition” tab within the reporting portal. You will need to log into the portal with an AUSkey.
Where there is a prerequisite, your organisation will need to confirm it meets the prerequisite and provide supporting information. Please download the Criteria and guide to citation document to determine your eligibility.
Process and timing
The timeframe for the submission of applications opens on 1 June and closes on 30 September annually. The list of successful applicants are announced in February of the following year. Applications for the EOCGE citation that are submitted to the Agency are confidential.
The online application comprises a series of questions under seven criteria in a survey format. In answering questions, where there is a prerequisite, you will need to confirm you meet that prerequisite. For all other questions, you will need to provide an answer, regardless of whether or not that initiative/process is in place in your organisation. To prepare for the online application, download the 2018-19 EOCGE offline questionnaire.
The Agency will conduct a 20 minute telephone interview with the CEO of organisations applying for the citation for the first time or where a CEO is new and has not participated in an EOCGE interview for that organisation. Additionally, as part of the assessment process, the Agency will continue to conduct interviews with a small number of randomly selected CEOs of current citation holders to assess their ongoing leadership commitment.
Being awarded the EOCGE citation will provide recipients with significant differentiation in a competitive marketplace. Successful applicants will enjoy recognition as an EOCGE employer and the use of the logo for a period of 12 months from the announcement of the EOCGE list each year.
To ensure we can maintain the high standard of service and quality expected from our leading organisations, there is an annual application fee of $950 including GST. For not-for-profit sector applicants, a reduced fee of $550 including GST is applicable. This fee is payable at the time of submission of an application and is non-refundable.
