2020 Leaders in gender equality announced
Big news: the 2020 leaders in Australian workplace gender equality have been announced!
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency has announced the latest list of Employer of Choice Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation holders.
The EOCGE citation has been in place since 2014 and is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.
The citation was reviewed and updated for the 2019-20 period to ensure that it continued to reflect best practice and remained relevant and accessible to employers.
Employers applying for the citation are required to meet a rigorous set of criteria in seven focus areas covering leadership, strategy and accountability, pay equity, support for caring, mainstreaming flexible work and prevention of harassment and discrimination.
This year, 119 organisations have received the citation. Of these, 14 are first-time recipients.
It is wonderful to see the innovation, hard work and commitment that has gone into improving gender equality in each and every one of these workplaces.
The 2020 EOCGE announcement coincides with the release of a new report from the University of Queensland that demonstrates the effectiveness of the citation in improving workplace gender equality
The report shows that citation holders are driving improved gender equality outcomes in Australian workplaces.
