The Agency has released Australia’s most comprehensive Gender Equality Strategy Toolkit (GES Toolkit).
The GES Toolkit will allow Australian businesses to measure their current level of engagement with workplace gender equality. It provides a blueprint for the development and implementation of gender equality strategies in workplaces.
Over the past five years of WGEA data, there has been strong growth in the number of employers implementing gender equality policies and/or strategies.
Our 2017-18 data shows that nearly 75% of organisations now have an overall gender equality strategy and/or policy. The data also continues to show substantial improvements in employer focus across a number of specific gender equality areas.

The GES Toolkit comprises:
- a diagnostic tool, which allows organisations to “score” their current level of engagement with workplace gender equality, and
- a strategy guide, which provides instructions and guidance on how best to develop and implement workplace gender equality strategies.
The Agency developed the GES Toolkit in response to feedback from business and organisations across Australia who tell us they want to improve gender equality in their workplaces, but don’t know where to start. It will provide vital step-by-step guidance and support to any organisation.
