Applying for a reporting extension

Relevant employers must prepare and lodge a Gender Equality Report during the reporting lodgement period (1 April to 31 May). A reporting extension is available if you require more time to lodge your report.

Available extension periods:

  • 1-month extension (report due 30 June - automatically approved)
  • 2-month extension (report due 31 July - requires you provide reasonable grounds)
  • 3-month extension (report due 31 August - you must demonstrate exceptional circumstances)

Extensions must be applied for within the lodgement period and you can only apply for one extension each year.
