This Microsoft Word template is for viewing and compiling responses prior to completing the Questionnaire within the Employer Portal. This document cannot be uploaded into the Employer Portal.

Please note: this document contains all possible combinations of questions that will be asked. You should refer to the instructions under each question to determine which question to answer next.

Workplace Profile

Choose one type of Workplace Profile template to complete.

All Commonwealth public sector employers must upload a Workplace Profile (WPP) and include all employees.

Employers using APSC data transfer only need to include:

  • CEOs - base salary and total remuneration.
  • Casual employees - annualised salary data (yearly pay).
  • Any additional APS employees not included in APSED.

Unit level Template (recommended)

2024 Public Sector Workplace Profile (Unit level) (XLSX, 721.14 KB)

The Workplace Profile is an Excel worksheet designed to collect information about workforce composition, base salaries, and total remuneration.

  • The unit level profile requires less data to complete than the STP-calculated template
  • Employers must do their own calculations of salary/remuneration but have full control over the final figures provided for each employee.

STP/Payroll Template

2024 Public Sector Workplace Profile (STP-calculated) (XLSX, 156.21 KB)

The Workplace Profile is an Excel worksheet designed to collect information about workforce composition, base salaries, and total remuneration.

  • The STP/Payroll file is designed for users with a sound knowledge of different payment types and terms relating to the way in which they are paid.
  • Using the file removes the need for manual salary and remuneration calculations to a full year and full-time equivalent amount as the template will perform this calculation.

For further information, refer to the Workplace Profile page of this guide.
